so i did.
arriving at the LA marathon 7 minutes before it started was how it happened.
geared with an ipod and phone, i decided i'd just walk the entire thing. why not?
then...around mile 7, i decided i'd start running at the halfway point.
reflection i had at this point: it is okay to develop a strategy along the way.
13 miles power walking the first half of LA marathon.
then, 11 miles of running until my legs started aching.
then, a mix of walking and running to the finish.
i decided to have fun.
walk.run. wave hello to strangers. jump for the photographers and hope they capture a cool shot. stare at people. laugh out loud. smile at anyone. accept fruit from generous giver-outers. stop to pet little puppies. & the most random of all... lol while drinking beer given to me by a man robed in a lavendar prom dress.
that's how i spent memorial day this year.
post-reflection: it is okay to develop a strategy along the way, but doesn't mean it's going to be a good one. (i was so freaking sore that day and the next and the next. more than after running the hilly big sur!)
k. just wanted to share. bye.
(enjoy the bootleg pictures).
