unexpected

things are happening around us all the time.

and yet, sometimes i'm surprised by how caught off guard i find myself in those unexpected moments, when actually....the reality is that life is unexpected. it is full of change. & those are the things we can expect.

we never know...
when something will happen, or not happen.
when people we love, leave us forever.
when strangers become dear to us.
when death strips life.

we just never know...

in reflecting on a young person who unexpectedly passed away this week, i've been jarred into a place of sobriety. i'm reminded that my life is not my own; but that what i do have, i want to live with the fullest of intention and the fullest of love.
